Regional Director

Hi! I am Linda Scarano-Senatore. My love of dolls began while growing up in Brooklyn in the 1970's. Whether Baby Tender Love, Barbie, Kiddle's, or Dawn, I could not seem to get enough! I attended public school and was part of the "Special Progress Program," skipping the seventh grade and moving onto high school a year early. I attended Brookly College for two years before entering the working world, relocating to Eltingville, Staten Island in the early nineties.

While simultaneously working as an Administrative Assistant, I began my volunteer journey. Firstly, I became a member of the Executive Board of the Women's Auxiliary of the Staten Island Historical Society. While a member, I chaired many events including but not limited to: Program Coordinator, Greenery Chairperson, and Membership Officer. I spent many hours creating baskets to raffle at fundraisers. At the WASIHS meeting I learned about the Great Kills Garden Club. I eagerly joined and became President shortly after. As a member of the club, I chaired many flower shows, gave programs, and coordinated events. I enrolled in the Rutger's Flower Show Judge program and after completing the stringent FS judging requirements, I became a Flower Show Judge. I have recently achieved the status of Master Judge, the highest level that can be attained. After completing my presidency in the Great Kills Garden Club, I was elected to be District Director of all the Staten Island Garden Clubs.

During this time, I joined the Staten Island Doll Club and remained a member for many years. I participated in all activities including luncheons, trips, and sales. I made countless baskets to raffle and coordinated events. It was an exciting time, and I made many lifelong friends.

In 2011, I met my future husband, Michael, on an online dating site. I ultimately moved to Toms River, and we were married in 2014. While acclimating to my unfamiliar environment, I joined the Master Gardeners of Ocean County. I am proud to say I have maintained my status to date. I also joined the Garden Club of Toms River where I served as president twice and served the New Jersey Garden Club as needed.

I was delighted to discover the Jersey Shore Doll Club and quickly joined, now serving as Vice President. I am an active member, working diligently on our Facebook page to garner new members and educate the public. I have attended many Conventions as my club's delegate and enjoyed them immensely. I am an avid Monster High collector and presented a Dynamic Dialogue at Convention that was well received. I continue to be involved in our annual luncheon and ongoing programs. I am also a member of the Princeton Doll Study program and the Kewpie Doll Club presenting programs as needed.

I work virtually as a blog writer for my family's business, Scarano Architect, PLLC. It is a labor of love, and I enjoy creating new material for our website.

As we ring in the new year, I am delighted and excited to be the new Director for Region 13. I love being a part of the doll community and aspire to increase membership in our area. I enjoy presenting programs and chatting with members comparing doll interests. Learning is my passion and there is a wealth of information at our fingertips. It would be my pleasure to assist you in any way that I can. As your Regional Director I hope to meet each one of you and discover your dolly desires!
